Preparation: this chemical can be prepared by thiophene. This reaction will need reagent SnCl4, Pb(OAc)4 and solvent ethyl acetate. The reaction time is 15 min. The yield is about 75%.



Uses of 2,5-Dichlorothiophene: it can be used to produce 2,5-dichloro-3,4-dinitro-thiophene. It will need reagent sulfuric acid and nitric acid.
