 3,4-Dihydro-6-(4-(3,4-dimethoxybenzoyl)-1-piperazinyl)-2(1h)-quinolinone (CAS NO.81840-15-5) is a cardiotonic agent. A mixed phosphodiesterase inhibitor and ion-channel modifier that has modest, dose-dependent, positive inotropic activity, but minimal negative chronotropic activity. 3,4-Dihydro-6-(4-(3,4-dimethoxybenzoyl)-1-piperazinyl)-2(1h)-quinolinone (CAS NO.81840-15-5) improves ventricular performance most in patients with the worst degree of heart failure.

3,4-Dihydro-6-(4-(3,4-dimethoxybenzoyl)-1-piperazinyl)-2(1h)-quinolinone Production

Raw materials :1,4-Diazacyclohexane-->Formamide-->4-Methylanisole-->1,2,3,4-Tetrahydroquinolin-2-one 
With 6 - Amino -3,4 - dihydro -2 (1H) - quinolinone as raw material. The 6 - Amino -3,4 - dihydro -2 (1H) - quinolinone (21.1g, 0.13mo1) and Double (Iraq-bromoethyl) amine hydrobromide (40.5g, 0.13mo1) dissolved in 150ml ethanol, reflux with mixing 8h. Cooling, adding Sodium carbonate (13.8g, 0.13mo1), and then reflux with mixining 8h. Cool to room temperature, filtered, collect precipitation, ethanol wash, ethanol - water, recrystallization,obtaining colorless needle-like crystals 26.4g 3,4-Dihydro-6-(4-(3,4-dimethoxybenzoyl)-1-piperazinyl)-2(1h)-quinolinone (CAS NO.81840-15-5) , the yield was 64%.
