Alkyl- and Arylsulfenanilides by Cycloelimination of Alkenes from Sulfimides, 2. Thermolysis of 3-Alkylthio-propionitrile- or Methyl 3-Alkylthio-propanoate S-(N-Aryl)imides
A series of alkyl- and arylsulfenanilides has been prepared by thermal cycloelimination of acrylonitrile or methyl acrylate from N-aryl sulfimides derived from 3-alkylthio-propionitriles or methyl 3-alkylthio-propanoates.Compared to reactions in earlier studies cycloelimination proceeds much faster at very mild conditions, thus allowing a one-pot synthesis of sulfenanilides from corresponding 3-alkyl-thio-propionitriles or 3-alkylthio-propanoates.

Alkyl- and Arylsulfenanilides by Cycloelimination of Propene from N-Aryl-S-isopropyl-sulfimides
A series of N-aryl-S-isopropyl-S-alkyl- or aryl-sulfimides has been prepared and transformed into alkyl- or arylsulfenanilides, respectively, by thermal cycloelimination of propene. - Keywords: Sulfimides; Sulfenanilides; Thermolysis; Cycloelimination.
