- Synthesis method of methyl 2-chlorosulfonyl-3-methyl benzoate

The invention provides a synthesis method of 2-chlorosulfonyl-3-methyl benzoate, and the synthesis method comprises the following steps: reacting 2-nitro-3-methyl benzoate (II) with benzyl isothiourea hydrochloride (III) and alkali in a solvent A to obtain a benzyl sulfide intermediate (IV), after the reaction is finished, extracting with a solvent B, and directly applying to oxidation reaction to obtain the 2-chlorosulfonyl-3-methyl benzoate (I). The method has the advantages of simple process, easily available raw materials, low cost and high yield, and is suitable for industrial production. Meanwhile, a shrinkage method is applied, an intermediate does not need to be separated and purified, 2-chlorosulfonyl-3-methyl benzoate is prepared through continuous reaction in a solution state; meanwhile, the benzyl isothiourea hydrochloride is easy to obtain, low in price and odorless in raw material, and the concept of a green process is fully embodied.
