The main objective of the present invention is to provide a photoelectric conversion device using a compound having excellent heat resistance and charge transportability, and an image capturing device using the photoelectric conversion device. The present invention provides a photoelectric conversion device comprising an organic thin film containing a compound having an indenocarbazole ring structure represented by the following general formula (1). (In the formula, A represents a single bond, a divalent substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group, etc.; Ar1, Ar2 and Ar3 each represent a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group etc.; R1 to R9 each represent a hydrogen atom or an optionally substituted linear or branched alkyl group having 1-6 carbon atoms; and R10 and R11 each represent an optionally substituted linear or branched alkyl group having 1-6 carbon atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group, etc.).
