ARSENATION OF DIPHENYL OXIDE WITH ARSENIC TRICHLORIDE
The intermediate o-dichloroarsenodiphenyl oxide formed during arsenation of diphenyl oxide with arsenic trichloride undergoes both intramolecular arsenation to give 10-chlorophenoxarsine and subsequent arsenation with a second AsCl3 molecule to give o,o'-bis(dichloroarseno)diphenyl oxide.
