- Measuring the effect of ionic liquids on laccase activity using a simple, parallel method
-
Laccase activity was measured in the presence of 63 water-miscible and water-immiscible ionic liquids, including imidazolium, pyridinium, quaternary ammonium and quaternary phosphonium salts. A simple, parallel method was used to determine activity. In general, water-immiscible ionic liquids, especially bis[(trifluoromethyl)sulfonyl]amide salts, supported the highest enzyme activities. - EFFICACY-ENHANCING COMPOSITION FOR AMINO ACID-BASED AGROCHEMICAL
-
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficacy-enhancing composition for an amino acid-based agrochemical that is excellent in biodegradability, aquatic organism toxicity (fish toxicity), and compatibility with amino acid-based agricultural chemicals, is stable, and can effectively enhance the efficacy of amino acid-based agricultural chemicals, particularly rain resistance. SOLUTION: The present invention is an efficacy-enhancing composition for an amino acid-based agrochemical, the efficacy-enhancing composition comprising a specific mass ratio of three specific quaternary ammonium salts that comprise an ester group. - Screening ionic liquids for use in biotransformations with whole microbial cells
-
A wide range of ionic liquids, both water miscible and water immiscible, containing a diverse set of cations and anions, were screened for toxicity towards Escherichia coli K-12, using both Agar Diffusion tests and growth inhibition tests in liquid cultures. The data provide preliminary rules to enable the design of non-toxic ionic liquids for use in biocatalytic processes.
