Ring-Closing Synthesis of Dibenzothiophene Sulfonium Salts and Their Use as Leaving Groups for Aromatic 18F-Fluorination
Herein, we report a novel intramolecular ring-closing reaction of biaryl thioethers that give access to highly functionalized dibenzothiophene sulfonium salts under mild conditions. The resulting precursors react regioselectively with [18F]fluo

Synthesis and characterization of triarylsulfonium salts as novel cationic photoinitiators for UV-photopolymerization
Using diaryliodonium salts as the arylating reagent and copper as a catalyst, a series of triarylsulfonium salts bearing benzoyl or benzoheterocyclic moieties were synthesized and characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR and high-resolution mass spectrometry. The photoinitiating behavior of the triarylsulfonium salts on photopolymerization of epoxy acrylate resin (UV6104) with hexane-1,6-diyldiacrylate (HDDA) as an activated monomer was investigated. The results showed that these triarylsulfonium salts could be utilized as cationic photoinitiators in the UV-curing process. A polymerization photoinitiation mechanism has been proposed.
Synthesis, Structure, and Reactivity of 5-(Aryl)dibenzothiophenium Triflates
A synthetic protocol for the preparation of 5-(aryl)dibenzothiophenium salts starting from inexpensive dibenzothiophene S-oxide and simple arenes is reported. The scope of the method regarding the nature of the arene is evaluated, intermediates along the
