- Synthesis, optical, and structural properties of bisphenol-bridged aromatic cyclic phosphazenes
-
Phenoxy- and naphthoxy-substituted bisphenol-bridged cyclic phosphazenes were synthesized in 2 steps and their thermal, photophysical, and electrochemical properties were investigated. The structures of the cyclic phosphazene compounds were determined by ESI-MS mass spectrometry and 1 H, 13 C, and 31 P NMR spectroscopies. The photophysical studies of phenoxy- and naphthoxy-substituted bridged cyclophosphazenes were investigated by means of absorption and fluorescence spectroscopies in different solvents. Thermal and electrochemical properties of the target compounds were also studied. Furthermore, the excimer emissions through intramolecular interactions in solution and in solid state were investigated by fluorescence spectroscopy and the theoretical calculations were performed in detail using DFT.

- 1-Chloro-1,3,3,5,5-pentaphenoxy-cyclotriphosphazene: A precursor of functionalized cyclophosphazene derivatives
-
The crystal structure of the compound C3H25ClN 3O5P3 was investigated. A small asymmetry within the bond angles of the phospazene ring was noted as was observed in the related cyclic (p-halogenophenoxy)-phosphazene structures. The mean values of the N-P-N and P-N-P angles were 117.87 and 121.54° respectively. The plane of phenoxy group C(C521-C526) attached to atom O52 was approximately perpendicular to the phosphazene ring with a dihedral angle of 78.59(9)°. A significant difference between the two P atoms was observed in the crystal structure and concerns the positions of phenoxy groups.

- Fluorescence properties of fluorenylidene bridged cyclotriphosphazenes bearing aryloxy groups
-
The synthesis and characterization of the first series of aryloxy full-substituted fluorenylidene open chain and bridged cyclotriphosphazene derivatives (13-18) are reported in this study. The synthetic route utilized includes the reaction of penta-substituted cyclotriphosphazenes (5, 7, 9) with 4,4′-(9-fluorenylidene)diphenol (FDP) (11) and 4,4′-(9-fluorenylidene)dianiline (FDA) (12) to give bridged compounds (13, 15-17) and open chain compounds (14 and 18). The structural investigations of the compounds were verified by elemental analyses, mass spectrometry, UV-Vis, FT-IR, 1H and 31P NMR techniques, and X-ray crystallography (for 13 and 18). The fluorescence behavior of the studied cyclotriphosphazene derivatives were also examined in THF solution. Compound 16 showed a high emission among the studied compounds to investigate its metal sensing properties. This compound showed high selectivity for copper (Cu2+) and iron (Fe2+/Fe3+) ions in solution.

- Process For Producing Phosphonitrilic Acid Ester
-
A process for producing a cyclic and/or linear phosphonitrilic acid ester from a cyclic and/or linear phosphonitrile dichloride is provided, wherein the reaction time is shorter and the content of monochloro phosphazenes is very small. When phosphonitrile dichloride is reacted with a metal arylolate and/or a metal alcoholate in the presence of a reaction solvent, a metal arylolate and/or a metal alcoholate composed of at least two different metals having different ionization energies is used and also a specific compound is used as a catalyst.

A compound of the formula: (I) is provided, where R is selected from CF3, F, and H, and m is an integer from 1 to 22. The compound may be prepared by reacting a first reactant with a second reactant in a solution, where the first reactant is a 2,4-dichloro-2,4,6,6- tetra(aryloxy)-1,3,5-triaza-2,4,6-triphosphorine, and the second reactant is a perfluoropolyether of the formula CF3CF2CF2O(CF2CF2CF2O)mCF2CF2CH2OH. The aryloxy is selected from 4-(trifluoromethyl)phenoxy (p -CF3-C6H4O), 4-fluorophenoxy (p-F-C6H4O), and phenoxy (C6H5O). The first reactant may be prepared by reacting 2,2,4,4,6,6-hexachloro-1,3,5-triaza-2,4,6-triphosphorine with a phenoxide. The compound may be used in a lubricant for lubricating a surface. The lubricant may be applied to a recording surface in a magnetic recording device including a recording medium.
