The X-ray crystal structure of 1,3-adamantane-dicarbonamide has been determined.Colourless, sube shaped crystals of C12H18N2O2 crystallize in the monoclinic space group C2/c (15) with cell dimensions a = 7*934(3), b = 15*543(3), c = 9*404(2) Angstroem, β = 93.63 deg; V = 1157.4(5) Angstroem3 and Z = 4. 1074 unique reflections with Inet > 2.00?(I) on refinement afforded values of R = 0.039 and Rw = 0.040. Compared with the prior art, the preparation method has the characteristics of obvious reduction of the usage amount of ammonia sources, low environmental pressure, low energy consumption, low production cost, high purity and yields of nitrile products, and the like, and can be used for obtaining nitrile with a more complex structure. The invention also relates to a method for preparing corresponding amine with nitrile.

1,3-Adamantane dicarboxylic acid was efficiently synthesized from 1-adamantane carboxylic acid by one-pot method. 1,3- Diaminoadamantane was synthesized from 1,3-adamantane dicarboxylic acid via amidation reaction and Hofmann degradation. The structure was confirmed by NMR spectra, etc.
