The invention relates to a synthetic method of an amino carboxylic acid compound, in particular to a method for synthesizing lauroyl L-carnitine hydrochloride, and belongs to the technical field of preparation of medical intermediates and food additives. The method for synthesizing lauroyl L-carnitine hydrochloride is characterized by comprising the following steps: 1) using L-carnitine as a raw material and acetic acid as a solvent, adding lauroyl chloride, carrying out a heating reaction, carrying out reduced pressure distillation to remove acetic acid, adding acetone, stirring, dispersing,cooling, crystallizing, carrying out suction filtration, and drying to obtain a crude product; and 2) heating and dissolving the obtained crude product with ethanol or methanol, carrying out suction filtration while the crude product is hot to obtain a filtrate, carrying out reduced pressure distillation and concentration, evaporating to remove part of ethanol or methanol, cooling, adding acetone,uniformly stirring, cooling, crystallizing, filtering, and drying to obtain a pure lauroyl L-carnitine hydrochloride product. The method has the characteristics of simplicity, feasibility, small pollution, short reaction period, low cost and yield of at least 92%, and is suitable for industrial scale-up production.
