The present invention relates to a citrate-based composition, a production method thereof, and a resin composition including the same. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the citrate-based composition is a novel hybrid citrate compound for plasticizers produced via transesterification reaction. The citrate-based composition prevents production of wastewater and byproducts, reduces catalyst consumption, and improves reaction time due to a direct reaction. Furthermore, when used in a resin composition, the citrate-based composition also exhibits excellent physical properties such as excellent plasticizing efficiency, tensile strength, migration, and absorption rates, without containing an acetyl group.COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017

- Synthetic method of low-color-number triisooctyl citrate

The invention discloses a synthetic method of low-color-number triisooctyl citrate. The method comprises the steps that citric acid and isooctyl ester are taken as starting materials, aluminum salt serves as a catalyst, alkane serves as a water-carrying agent, and under the action of the catalyst and the water-carrying agent, esterification reaction is conducted on the citric acid and the isooctyl ester; after the reaction is completed, the water-carrying agent is distilled to be used with isooctyl alcohol in a matched mode, the catalyst is filtered out through depressurizing, and the low-color-number triisooctyl citrate of which the color number is below 30 is obtained by conducting water washing, weak base washing and steam distillation on the product. The synthetic method of the low-color-number triisooctyl citrate is simple in technology and environmentally friendly, and the triisooctyl citrate with the color number smaller than 30 can be well synthesized.

- Preparation method of citrate

The invention discloses a method for preparing citrate by taking citric acid and fatty alcohol as main raw materials and using carbodiimide as a catalyst. The method is characterized in that in the synthetic process of citrate, carbodiimide is used as a catalyst, which not only can achieve a catalytic action but also can be used as a water retaining agent to absorb water generated in the process of esterification reaction so as to ensure that the reaction is carried out in a direction of generating ester. After reaction, a citrate compound is synthesized by virtue of purification processes of filtration, neutralization, water washing, decolorization, reduced pressure distillation and the like, and the preparation method belongs to the technical field of organic chemical synthesis. The preparation method disclosed by the invention has the advantages that the yield is high and reaches 95-98%; the catalyst is low in price and less in dosage which accounts for 0.2-1.25% of the total weight of the reaction raw material namely citric acid; the reaction condition is mild, the reaction can be carried out at normal temperature, the reaction speed is high, and the reaction time is short; the catalyst can be used repeatedly; and the catalyst is also a water retaining agent, reduces the addition of organic solvents of methyl benzene and the like, and is safe and environmentally friendly.
