Marine sterols. 27. 25-hydroxy derivative of sarcosterol, a novel marine sterol with a 23-methyl and a 17(20)E-double bond, from the soft coral Sinularia mayi
The dihydroxysterol, isolated from the soft coral Sinularia mayi of Okinawa, was shown by spectroscopic data and chemical conversion to be (23R, 24S)-23,24-dimethylcholesta-5,17(20)E-diene- 3β,25-diol (25- hydroxysarcosterol).
