Synthesis and anti-inflammatory activity of aromatic glucosinolates
Aromatic GLs are important members of the glucosinolate family of compounds because of their potential biological activity and medicinal properties. This study has shown success in the high yielding synthesis of some important aromatic GLs as well as the results of testing for anti-inflammatory properties of the synthetic GLs. 3,4-Dimethoxyphenylglucosinolate was found to be the most active anti-inflammatory of the seven glucosinolates assayed.

Synthesis and mesomorphic properties of new 3-aryl-5-cyano-4,5- dihydroisoxazoles
New 3-aryl-5-cyano-4,5-dihydroisoxazoles possessing liquid crystalline properties were synthesized in two ways. The key stage in both procedures is 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of nitrile oxides to acrylonitrile.

A new one pot method for the conversion of aldehydes into nitriles using hydroxyamine and phthalic anhydride
The aryl and alkyl aldehydes were readily converted to give the corresponding nitrites in good yields using hydroxyamine and phthalic anhydride as reagents in one pot.
