The Cadmium oxide, with the cas registry number 1306-19-0, has the IUPAC name of oxocadmium. For being a kind of brown crystals or brown amorphous powder, it is stable but incompatible with magnesium. Besides, it is insoluble in water and alkali while soluble in acid, ammonia water and ammonium salt solution. Its product categories are including Inorganics; Cadmium; CadmiumMetal and Ceramic Science; Catalysis and Inorganic Chemistry; Chemical Synthesis; Oxides.
The characteristics of this chemical are as below: (1)#H bond acceptors: 1; (2)#H bond donors: 0; (3)#Freely Rotating Bonds: 0; (4)Polar Surface Area: 17.07; (5)Exact Mass: 129.898273; (6)MonoIsotopic Mass: 129.898273; (7)Topological Polar Surface Area: 17.1; (8)Heavy Atom Count: 2; (9)Complexity: 2; (10)Covalently-Bonded Unit Count: 1.
The production method is below: This chemical could prepared from the a listing reactions of scraps containing the cadmium. And the reaction equations are as below: CdO+H2SO4→CdSO4+H2O; CdSO4+Zn→ZnSO4+Cd; 2Cd+O2→2CdO. As to its usage, it is widely applied in many ways. It could be used in producing metal cadmium & cadmium salt, cadmium plating solution, cadmium electrode, the phototubes gamma rays, photography, glazed ceramic pigment, and the metallurgical industry; It could also be used as the raw material and catalytic agent of cadmium salt and cadmium reagent.
When you are dealing with this chemical, you should be careful. For one thing, it is very toxic which may at very low levels cause damage to health and could cause cancer by inhalation. Besides, it has the danger of serious damage to health by prolonged exposure through inhalation and if swallowed, and it has possible risk of irreversible effects, impaired fertility and the risk of harm to the unborn child. For another thing, it is dangerous for the environment which may present an immediate or delayed danger to one or more components of the environment. Being very toxic to aquatic organisms, it may cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic environment.
Due to so many dangers, you should take different measures to deal with different cases. Avoid exposure - obtain special instruction before use. If contacting with eyes: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, occasionally lifting the upper and lower eyelids and get medical aid immediately; If contacting with skin: Get medical aid immediately. Immediately flush skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes; If ingestion: Get medical aid immediately and wash mouth out with water. If in case of accident or if you feel unwell, seek medical advice immediately (show label where possible). Besides, you should avoid releasing to the environment and you could also refer to special instructions safety data sheet. When store this chemical, this material and/or its container must be disposed of as hazardous waste.
In addition, you could convert the following datas into the molecular structure:
(1)Canonical SMILES: O=[Cd]
(2)InChI: InChI=1S/Cd.O
