  • The Patents Office was established under the Industrial and Commercial Property (Protection) Act 1927. It is an independent statutory office under the control of the Controller of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks. The Controller is appointed by the Government, and the staffing and resources of the Office are functions of the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, in consultation with the Minister for Finance.
