  • The Brazilian medical experts found that the plant hormone called as "isoflavin" in soybean can ease all kinds of the common symptoms of menopause in women. What's more, it is not the same as the estrogen therapy which is widely used in the medical community recently, because it will not cause any side effects.

    The obstetrics and gynecology experts from the Federal University of Sao Paulo in Brazil have carried out follow-up texts on 80 menopausal women for more than 6 months. After the tests, the experts found that, after taking the plant hormone isoflavin, 85% of the subjects have got some improvement on their menopausal symptoms; and for 75% of the women who have taken isoflavin, the cholesterol level in their body have decreased along with the improvement of the menopausal symptoms.

    What makes the researchers excited is, isoflavin is effective for the treatment of all the symptoms which are originally cured by estrogen. Although the efficacy of isoflavin is a little lower than estrogen, however, it doesn't have the side effects as the estrogen.

    After women enter in menopause, the function of producing hormone of their body begins to weaken gradually. This can lead to a lot of symptoms such as insomnia, depression, loss of the sclerotin and so on, which will greatly affect the quality of their life. Generally speaking, after taking estrogen, about 90% to 95% of the women can have some improvement on their symptoms during the menopause. But the problem is, estrogen will bring a various kinds of side effects, making the women much easier to suffer from some diseases such as cancer of the uterus or breast cancer.

    Researchers have replaced the traditional estrogen with isoflavin, and provided it to the women taking the tests. The results have not found any symptoms of breast or endometrial swelling. As a result, the researchers deducted that, soybean products do not have the side effects and medical risk brought by estrogen.

    The researchers also said that, up to now, soybean is one of the foods which have the most complete nutrition and most abundant function. In addition to its high nutritional value, the high-protein component in soybean is also the best substance for the treatment or prevention of cancer, osteoporosis and other diseases. In addition to the large content of protein, soybean is also rich in selenium, which can improve the body's resistance against diseases. What's more, the soy saponins contained in soybeans has an inhibiting effect on ADIS virus.
