  • The Skills of Supplementing Vitamins for Babies
  • Vitamins like vitamin A and vitamin B1 are mainly contained in various foods. Therefore, babies have to absorb these vitamins from the foods. There are some skills which can effectively improve the absorption of vitamins for babies.

In order to supplement vitamin A, women should first absorb adequate vitamin A when they are pregnant, or the lack of the nutrient can indirectly affect the babies. In everyday life, mothers should provide the foods containing vitamin A for babies. Although many vegetable foods do not contain vitamin A, they contain abundant carotene. Carotene can be transformed into vitamin A inside the human body. At the same time, mothers should feed the babies with breast milk, which can effectively prevent the lack of vitamin A for babies. The bad habit of dietary bias should be avoided, as the lack of vitamins among babies is mainly caused by the dietary bias.

To supplement vitamin B1 for babies, pregnant women should increase the intake of coarse foods and the foods containing vitamin B1. Mothers should not always provide refined foods for their babies, or the lack of vitamin B1 can be worsened. The foods like lean meat and bean products contain abundant vitamin B1 should be often provided for babies. When people are washing vegetables, the water should not be too hot, as the vitamin B1 contained in vegetables can be destroyed.

The lack of vitamin B2 can be seriously caused by the dietary bias. When babies get indigestion, diarrhea and other gastric and intestinal diseases, the consumption of vitamin B2 can be increased. The babies can supplement vitamin B2 under the guidance of doctors. They can take the tablets of vitamin B2 when the situations are serious. The foods containing vitamin B2 should not be put in the sun, as vitamin B2 is very sensitive to the light, especially the ultraviolet rays in the sunlight.

Many foods contain abundant vitamin C, such as breast milk. If babies are fed with breast milk, they generally will not lack vitamin C. Vegetables and fruits like apples contain abundant vitamin C, and pregnant women should often eat them to supplement vitamin C for babies. Vitamin C contained in vegetables like carrots is easily destroyed, and people can put some flour on the surface of them before they cook, which can not only maintain vitamin C but also improve the absorption for the intestinal tract.

In short, people should make full use of the skills so as to avoid the lack of vitamins for their babies.
