as the reference electrode,44 a Pt wire as the counter electrode
and a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) as the working electrode.
Prior to experiments, the glassy carbon electrode was polished
with alumina paste 0.05 μm. All experiments were carried out
at 25 °C, in anhydrous dichloromethane (DCM) with 0.1 M
tetrabutylammonium tetrafluoroborate (TBABF4) as supporting
electrolyte at a scan rate of 100 mV s−1. The concentration of
all the substrates was 1x10-3 M. In these conditions the
standard redox potential of the ferrocenium/ferrocene system
is E°(Fc+/Fc) = +0.46 V vs SCE. Melting points were determined
with a Büchi apparatus and were uncorrected.
