the presence of 1 mol% of catalyst at 80 °C and the corre-

found that coupling reaction of acyl chlorides with arylbo-

We have demonstrated the first successful synthesis of a
new class of nanocomposite based on collagen peptides
grafted with palladium nanoparticles for catalyzing Suzuki
cross-coupling reaction in water medium. This heterogene-
ous bio-nanocatalyst was easily obtained by reduction of

using reducing agents. The Pd/IG bio-nanocatalyst has been
characterized by FT-IR, XPS, XRD, EDS TEM and FESEM
analysis. The TEM image of the recovered catalyst showed
the presence of well-distributed Pd NPs on the isinglass
without any aggregation. This new bio-nanocatalyst is found
to be very stable and can be effortlessly separated from the
reaction medium and recycled for several times without a
certain reduction of catalytic activity. Facile recovery of the
catalyst, easy work up and biodegradability of the residues’
waste are owed to isinglass support matrix and the use of
water as an environmentally benign reaction medium makes
this method green and attractive for sustainable development
of organic synthesis.
