(8) The calculated yields of clusters 1 and 2 are based on the limiting
reactant, LiNPtBu3. The crystal structure reported for 1 was derived
from a crystal that returned a structure solution nearest to the
tetracobalt stoichiometry, as determined by combustion analyses on
numerous samples. Since the bulk product obtained from multigram-
scale synthesis analyzed for the pure Co4 cluster 1 by combustion, we
proceeded with magnetic susceptibility and catalysis experiments.
