When the pressure stabilized in the apparatus, 2 mmol of 2-octanol
was added via syringe through a septum. The amount (mmol) of
oxygen that reacted was calculated using volume, actual temper-
ature and pressure from the ideal gas equation. The conversion was
determined by gas chromatography analysis.
