claimed this MOF was stable up to 275 C, even under pressure and

Leaching studies (from hot test filtration experiments) as deter-
mined by ICP/MS further proved that no iron was detected in
solution (<0.5 ppm as per detection limit of the technique), clearly
ruling out the involvement of any homoegeneous contribution.
These results are in good agreement with previously reported
results that indicated a strong interaction between other metal
nanoparticles (e.g. Pd and Au) on MIL-101 materials [53–55] as
well as Fe with Al in similar iron oxide nanoparticles supported
on aluminosilicates [50].

microwave methodology leading to a highly active and stable mate-
rial for aqueous phase oxidations of alcohols and alkenes. The
material was found to contain 2.06 wt.% Fe content which was
sufficient to efficiently promote oxidations in high yields to tar-
get products under microwave irradiation. Due to the interesting
properties of Fe/MIL-101, particularly related to its remarkably
enhanced Lewis acidity upon Fe incorporation, this catalyst is envis-
aged to find alternative applications in acid catalyzed chemistries
that will be explored in due course.
