ter GC and GC–MS analyses of the reaction mixture, volatiles were
removed under reduced pressure, and the residue was subjected to
silica gel column chromatography [eluting with petroleum ether/
ethyl acetate = 3:1] to afford 2a in 88% yield. The GC analyses of
the reaction mixture disclosed the formation of 2a in 96% yield.
