temperature. With this novel Bi2O3-CuO (0.75)/GCE as
electrode, CO2 could electrochemically reduce to formate
selectively and efficiently. FE of formate can achieve 89.3% at
apply potential −1.4 V, which is much higher than that on Bi2O3
powder (11.3%). Furthermore, during 10 h electrolysis, Bi2O3-
CuO (0.75) catalyst is still rigorous for CO2 reduction. From the
mentioned in experimental analysis, a reasonable mechanism
of ERC at the Bi2O3-CuO(x) bimetallic oxide catalyst was
proposed and composition dependent activity of the Bi2O3-
CuO(x) was observed. This work highlights the importance of
compositional effect morphology, further impacting on their
catalytic activities of bimetallic oxide catalyst and provides a
useful strategy for designing efficient catalysts for ERC in the
future.
