13 The reaction crude appeared as a yellow-orange, clear
solution (only one phase) conrming the almost total
conversion of glycerol into bromohydrins soluble in the
reaction medium. The higher solubility of castor oil in
MeOH allowed even an easier conversion of glycerol.
