4-fold-symmetric Zn -porphyrin-centered tetrakis-meso-(5’-
methyl-2,2’-bipyridyl) ligands (L1) and metal ions. The self-
assembled cage structures were characterized by NMR, ESI-
MS, and XRD analyses. A common feature of these
isostructural L1-Zn11 and L1-Cd11 complexes is the presence

approach would develop metallo-porphyrins that work as
catalysts in a confined space.
