The absorption band of the CH Br radical species and the Br
[
atom CT complex with acetonitrile are reported in this work for
the first time, assigned on the basis of TD DFT calculations and
carefully designed scavenging experiments. Recording the spectral
signatures of the cage-escaped radical species is made possible as a
