The survival rate of HeLa cells treated with different concentrations of
DCP‐BA (0, 2.5, 5, 10, 20, 40, 80 μM) for 24 h was determined using
an MTT assay. Results showed that HeLa cells treated with different
concentrations of DCP‐BA maintained more than 90% cell viability
even though 80 μM DCP‐BA was added for 24 h, and indicated that
DCP‐BA was of low cytotoxicity (Figure 4). Low toxicity is the basis
for application of fluorescent probes to cell imaging technology.
Then we performed a cell fluorescence imaging experiment for

In summary, we designed and synthesized a fluorescence probe DCP‐
BA for detecting H in living cells using a two‐step chemical reac-
tion. Boric acid reacted with H , the fluorescence of the probe

was no longer quenched using boric acid, and this resulted in strong
fluorescence emission at 680 nm. DCP‐BA does not interfere with
other analogues in vivo such as ROS, oxidants, anions, and thiols, as
well as exhibiting its high selectivity, sensitivity, anti‐interference abil-
ity, and low toxicity. We have successfully applied DCP‐BA to image
