1630 cm−1 from the conjugated alkene and 1580 cm−1 from a
cyclic alkene, and the increased O–H bending absorption at
1432 and 1400 cm−1 from alcohol (Fig. S8†). The wide scan
spectra and deconvoluted XPS peaks of the samples are shown
in Fig. S9 and S10,† respectively. The post-reaction sample
showed an increased O peak in the wide scan spectrum. The
deconvoluted O 1s spectra showed 4 distinct peaks at 533, 531,
530, and 528 eV assigned to O–C, OvC, OH/OH2-Cu, and
μ-OH-Cu, respectively. As compared to the pristine Cu-trz, the
post-reaction sample showed increased peak intensity, related
to O from the oxygenated species. The great increase in both
FT-IR and XPS peak intensities corresponding to O–C and
OvC suggests the presence of the remaining oxygenated
species in the MOF. This signifies that the reaction took place
by the efficient use of OMS-Cu within the pores. This high-
lights the beneficial role of the highly porous structure with
single-site Lewis active centers of Cu-trz which is efficient for
the selective production of the allylic species from CyH oxidation.

Conclusions
Overall, we emphasize a highly robust and crystalline porous
Cu-trz as a catalyst for the oxidation of CyH with H2O2. The
framework delivers high allylic product yields of 31% with
high selectivity. The great catalytic performance is mainly
ascribed to the abundance of Lewis acid sites which are acces-
sible through its porous structure. Abundant triangular
Cu3(trz)3(μ3-OH) nodes can provide Lewis acidic OMS-Cu
acting as a catalytic site to activate H2O2 via the homolytic
pathway, generating the active radicals for the selective oxi-
dation of CyH to allylic products. This study highlights the util-
ization of MOFs with high efficacy from their special character-
istics and well-designed structures in catalytic applications.
