microcompressor at a constant rate of 2 L/min. Under
those conditions, the reaction proceeded in the kinetic
regime. After the temperature equilibration, the mix-
ture was stirred, 2 mL of it was sampled to determine
the initial substrate concentration, and the compressor
was switched on (this moment was considered as the
reaction start). The reaction mixture was regularly
sampled, and the current substrate concentration was
determined as a function of the reaction duration. To
do so, 4 mL of 2 equiv./L copper sulfate solution was
added to 2 mL of the mixture specimen, and the
formed precipitate was dissolved in 5 mL of chloro-
form. 2 mL of the so obtained complex solution was
sampled and diluted with 5 mL of chloroform, and the
solution absorbance at 440 nm was measured. Prior to
the kinetic experiment, the calibration curve was
obtained by similar treatment of the substrate solutions
of the known concentration.
