Uses of Indole-6-carboxaldehyde: it is used to produce other chemicals. For example, it can react with propan-2-one to get 4-(Indol-6-yl)-3-buten-2-one. The reaction occurs with reagent NaOH at temperature of 7.5 °C for 14.5 hours. The yield is 95.7 %.
