Ununhexium
Ununhexium General
Name:Ununhexium | Symbol:Uuh |
Type:Other Metal (presumed) | Atomic weight:293 |
Density @ 293 K:g/cm3 | Atomic volume:cm3/mol |
Discovered:
Ununhexium was first made by research scientists at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna, Russia in 2000. Scientists reacted curium with calcium ions. Ununhexium (Uuh) is a temporary element name until it is given an official name by The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC). As a result of its position in the periodic table ununhexium is expected to be classed as one of the "other metals" or to have simalar properties to the metalloid polonium. Too little of the element has been synthesized for this to be confirmed. |
