  • Uses Nafion(R) perfluorinated resin is a perfluorinated ion-exchange membrane which has a wide variety of commercial uses. The acidic (hydrogen ion) form and derivatives are solid, superacid catalysts useful in a wide variety of synthetic applications. Nafion acts as a fluorinated proton conducting polymer in ion-exchange resins and membranes. Nafion? perfluorinated membrane (Nafion 117) is a composite material that can be used as an electrolytic ion-exchange membrane for the fabrication of fuel cells.
