  • Uses Silver sulfide is useful as a photosensitizer in photography, Intermediates, chemical research. Silver sulfide is a brownish back powder formed by the combination of an alkaline sulfide with silver. It is a very stable compound made when toning silver-based images in sulfides. It is soluble in sulfuric and nitric acids but insoluble in water and alcohol. Inlaying in niello metalwork, ceramics.
