Useful:
  • Uses Disodium tartrate dihydrate is used in standardization of Karl fischer reagent to determine trace ammount of water (less than 1%). Sodium salt of L-(+)-Tartaric Acid (T007630), a naturally occurring chemical compound found in berries, grapes and various wines. It provides antioxidant properties and contributes to the sour taste within these products. Sodium L-tartrate dibasic dihydrate may be used in the preparation of solid-state M–L compounds (M = bivalent metal ions ie., Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn; L = tartrate). It may also be used in the preparation of copper (II) and cobalt (II) tartrate complexes by reacting with the corresponding metal salts. These complexes can undergo thermal decomposition to form Cu and Co metal oxide nanoparticles.
