Preparation: this chemical can be prepared by chloro-trimethyl-silane and diphenyl-diselane. This reaction will need reagent of Na and THF.

Uses of Benzene,[(trimethylsilyl)seleno]-: it can be used to produce trimethyl-(3-phenylselanyl-propoxy)-silane with oxetane. This reaction will need catalytic agent of ZnI2 and solvent of CH2Cl2. The reaction time is 54 hours with reaction temperature of 35 °C. The yield is about 80%.
