Be 245g dimethylamine hydrochloride and mixing hydrochloric acid heated to 70-75 ℃, adding 235g of sodium nitrite in 150ml water slurry liquid, while adding hydrochloric acid to make exactly acidic reactant. Canadian Bi, heating 2h, and then distilled to nearly dry, add water and then evaporated, the distillate combined with 300g of saturated potassium carbonate to make, take the upper vacuum fractionation, may close 200gN-nitroso-dimethylamine, the yield of nearly 90 %.

Reported in EPA TSCA Inventory. EPA Genetic Toxicology Program. Community Right-To-Know List. EPA Extremely Hazardous Substances List.
Confirmed carcinogen with experimental carcinogenic, neoplastigenic, tumorigenic, and teratogenic data. A transplacental carcinogen. Human poison by ingestion. Experimental poison by ingestion, inhalation, intraperitoneal, subcutaneous, and intravenous routes. Human systemic effects by ingestion: ulceration or bleeding from small intestine, nausea or vomiting, and fever. Experimental reproductive effects. Human mutation data reported. Has caused fatal liver disease in humans. When heated to decomposition it emits toxic fumes of NOx. See also NITROSAMINES.
Analytical Methods:
For occupational chemical analysis use OSHA: #27.
When heated to decomposition, n-Nitrosodimethylamine emits toxic fumes of nitrogen oxides. Avoid exposure to ultraviolet light.
