The systematic name of Aprotinin is Trypsin inhibitor, pancreatic basic. With the CAS registry number 9087-70-1, it is also named as Basic pancreatic trypsin inhibitor. Uses of Aprotinin: this product is used to inhibit trypsin and related proteolytic enzymes as the bovine version of the small protein basic pancreatic trypsin inhibitor, or BPTI. Its action on plasmin independently slows fibrinolysis. Furthermore, it can be used as an enzyme inhibitor to prevent protein degradation during lysis or homogenization of cells and tissues in cell biology.
