Complexes of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) with schiff bases derived from 2-amino-5-mercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazole and 2-hydroxyacetophenone or 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde have been prepared and characterised on the basis of elemental analysis and magnetic and spectral studies.The complexes conform to 1:1 stoichiometry and are non-electrolyte in nature.The schiff bases act as bidentate ligands coordinating through the azomethine nitrogen, phenolic oxygen and both the ring and thiol sulphur atoms.The low molar conductance values suggest polymeric octahedral/distorted octahedral geometry around the metal ions.
