10326-24-6 Usage
Description
ZINC ARSENITE is a white powder that is insoluble in water and is primarily used as a wood preservative and insecticide. It is a colorless powder that is soluble in acids but not in water. The chemical composition of the solution used for wood preservation is described in the Federal specification TT-W-581.
Uses
Used in Wood Preservation Industry:
ZINC ARSENITE is used as a wood preservative to protect wood from decay, fungi, and insects. Its application helps to extend the life and durability of wooden structures and materials.
Used in Pest Control Industry:
ZINC ARSENITE is used as an insecticide to control and eliminate various types of insects that can cause damage to crops, gardens, and stored products. Its effectiveness in controlling insect populations makes it a valuable tool in integrated pest management strategies.
Air & Water Reactions
Insoluble in water.
Reactivity Profile
ZINC ARSENITE has only weak oxidizing or reducing powers. Redox reactions can however still occur. The majority of compounds in this class are slightly soluble or insoluble in water. If soluble in water, then the solutions are usually neither strongly acidic nor strongly basic. These compounds are not water-reactive.
Health Hazard
Highly toxic, may be fatal if inhaled, swallowed or absorbed through skin. Avoid any skin contact. Effects of contact or inhalation may be delayed. Fire may produce irritating, corrosive and/or toxic gases. Runoff from fire control or dilution water may be corrosive and/or toxic and cause pollution.
Fire Hazard
Non-combustible, substance itself does not burn but may decompose upon heating to produce corrosive and/or toxic fumes. Containers may explode when heated. Runoff may pollute waterways.
Safety Profile
Confirmed human
carcinogen. Poison by ingestion and
intraperitoneal routes. Moderately toxic by
skin contact. When heated to decomposition
it emits toxic fumes of As and ZnO. See

COMPOUNDS.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 10326-24-6 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 1,0,3,2 and 6 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 2 and 4 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 10326-24:
(7*1)+(6*0)+(5*3)+(4*2)+(3*6)+(2*2)+(1*4)=56
56 % 10 = 6
So 10326-24-6 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
