Description
Donepezil hydrochloride, marketed under the trade name Aricept, is a piperidine-type reversible cholinesterase (ChE) inhibitor. It is chemically known as (±)-2, 3-dihydro-5, 6-dimethoxy-2-[[1-(phenylmethyl)-4-piperidinyl]methyl]-1Hinden-1-one hydrochloride, with an empirical formula of C24H29NO3HCl and a molecular weight of 415.96. This white crystalline powder is freely soluble in chloroform, soluble in water and glacial acetic acid, slightly soluble in ethanol and acetonitrile, and practically insoluble in ethyl acetate and n-hexane. Donepezil hydrochloride can bind and reversibly inactivate cholinesterases, thereby inhibiting the hydrolysis of acetylcholine and increasing its concentration at cholinergic synapses.
Uses
Used in Pharmaceutical Industry:
Donepezil hydrochloride is used as a therapeutic agent for the treatment of symptoms associated with mild-to-severe Alzheimer's disease. By increasing the concentration of acetylcholine at cholinergic synapses, it helps improve cognitive function and memory in patients. However,

Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 110119-84-1 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,1,0,1,1 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 4 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 110119-84:
(8*1)+(7*1)+(6*0)+(5*1)+(4*1)+(3*9)+(2*8)+(1*4)=71
71 % 10 = 1
So 110119-84-1 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
