Dodecenylsuccinic acid, also known as DDSA, is a chemical compound used as an intermediate in the production of surfactants and corrosion inhibitors. It is a white to pale yellow solid with a mild, fruity odor. DDSA is insoluble in water but is soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and acetone. It is primarily used in the manufacturing of metalworking fluids, lubricants, and rust preventatives.
