111879-80-2 Usage
General Description
The chemicals in question are a mixture of four different compounds: (E)-oxacyclohexadec-12-en-2-one, (E)-oxacyclohexadec-13-en-2-one, (Z)-oxacyclohexadec-(12)-en-2-one, and (Z)-oxacyclohexadec-(13)-en-2-one. These compounds are cyclic ketones with varying positions of the double bond and different stereochemistries. Their chemical structures consist of a 16-carbon ring with a carbonyl group and a double bond. The mixture of these chemicals likely has various industrial or laboratory applications, as the presence of different isomers can impact their reactivity and properties.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 111879-80-2 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,1,1,8,7 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 111879-80:
(8*1)+(7*1)+(6*1)+(5*8)+(4*7)+(3*9)+(2*8)+(1*0)=132
132 % 10 = 2
So 111879-80-2 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

PROCESS FOR PREPARING UNSATURATED LACTONES
-
Page/Page column 16-17, (2008/06/13)
The invention relates to a process for preparing saturated or unsaturated lactones. This process involves reacting a bicyclic compound or a monocyclic compound with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a first acid having a pKa of 3 or less and a first organic solvent, thereby forming a hydroperoxide. The obtained mixture comprising the hydroperoxide is subsequently metered to a mixture of a second organic solvent and a dissociation-enhancing catalyst, optionally comprising a second organic acid. The invention also pertains to a process of preparing the hydroperoxide.
