General Description
2-[(carboxymethyl)sulphonyl]benzoic acid, also known as sulbenicillin, is a synthetic antibiotic compound that belongs to the penicillin class of drugs. It is a prodrug of ampicillin and is used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. This chemical is particularly effective against gram-negative bacteria and is often used for the treatment of urinary tract infections, respiratory infections, and skin infections. Sulbenicillin works by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell walls, leading to the death of the bacteria. It is available in both oral and intravenous forms for administration.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 1209-81-0 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 1,2,0 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 1209-81:
(6*1)+(5*2)+(4*0)+(3*9)+(2*8)+(1*1)=60
60 % 10 = 0
So 1209-81-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
