Description
Cyhalofop-butyl is a post-emergence, aryloxyphenoxypropionate herbicide specifically designed for controlling weeds in rice plantations. It operates by inhibiting the biosynthesis of acetyl-coenzyme A carboxylase (ACCase), an essential enzyme in fatty acid synthesis. This herbicide is characterized by its low aqueous solubility, non-volatility, and low mammalian oral toxicity. While it is not expected to persist in soil systems, it may exhibit persistence in certain water systems depending on local conditions. Cyhalofop-butyl is also known to be moderately toxic to fish and aquatic plants, but it poses a low risk to aquatic invertebrates, birds, and honeybees.
Uses
Used in Agriculture:
Cyhalofop-butyl is used as a herbicide in the agricultural industry for controlling weeds in rice plantations. Its application helps to improve crop yield by reducing competition from unwanted plants, ensuring a more efficient use of resources such as nutrients, water, and light.
Used in Analytical Chemistry:
Cyhalofop-butyl serves as a reference standard in the determination of its concentration in rice samples using liquid chromatography coupled with a diode array detector (LC-DAD). This analytical application aids in monitoring the herbicide's residue levels in rice, ensuring food safety and quality by adhering to regulatory limits and guidelines.
Precautions for Use
Cyhalofop-butyl does not present any useful pre-emergence activity. It can be applied from germination to the four-leafstage of barnyard grass with granular formulations, and from germination to the six-leaf stage with liquid formulations. lt israinfast within 2-3 hours and has no residual activity. The US product label states that 2.3 L/ha of crop oil concentrateshould be added to the tank for all treatments. The product poses low risk to nearby crops such as cotton, soybeans andvegetables but Dow advises that drift to more sensitive crops such as maize, nectarines, peaches, sugar cane and sorghum should be avoided.

Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 122008-85-9 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,2,2,0,0 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 122008-85:
(8*1)+(7*2)+(6*2)+(5*0)+(4*0)+(3*8)+(2*8)+(1*5)=79
79 % 10 = 9
So 122008-85-9 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
