12211-52-8 Usage
Description
Ammonium cyanide, with the chemical formula NH4CN, is a colorless crystalline solid that forms cubic crystals. It is unstable, with a density of 1.02 g/cm3, and decomposes at 36°C. It sublimes at 40°C and is very soluble in cold water and alcohol, but decomposes in hot water. Ammonium cyanide can be formed by mixing ammonium sulfate solution with barium cyanide solution.
Uses
Used in Organic Synthesis:
Ammonium cyanide is used as a reagent in organic synthesis for various chemical reactions. However, due to its instability, it is not shipped or sold commercially.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 12211-52-8 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 1,2,2,1 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 12211-52:
(7*1)+(6*2)+(5*2)+(4*1)+(3*1)+(2*5)+(1*2)=48
48 % 10 = 8
So 12211-52-8 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
