General Description

1-(tert-butoxycarbonyl)-4,4-difluoropiperidine-2-carboxylic acid is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C13H19F2NO4. It is a carboxylic acid derivative that contains a piperidine ring with two fluorine atoms and a tert-butoxycarbonyl (Boc) protecting group. 1-(tert-butoxycarbonyl)-4,4-difluoropiperidine-2-carboxylic acid is commonly used in organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry as a building block for the synthesis of pharmaceuticals and other biologically active compounds. The Boc protecting group is used to temporarily mask the amino group of the piperidine ring during synthetic reactions, and can be removed under specific conditions to expose the free amine for further modification. The difluoropiperidine-2-carboxylic acid moiety may also impart unique chemical and biological properties to the molecules it is incorporated into.
