Description
Acid Violet 48 is a dark reddish-brown powder that is soluble in water, with a solubility point of 100°C and a maximum wavelength of absorption (λ Max) of 592 nm in water. It exhibits different color reactions in various acids, turning red in strong hydrochloric acid and coffee-colored in nitric acid. Its aqueous solution produces a red color, which turns into a sauce red precipitate upon the addition of hydrochloric acid. The addition of sodium hydroxide results in better light precipitation. Acid Violet 48 has moderate to good levelness and whiteness but is not suitable for bright colors.
