Usage

Description

Reactive Red 15 is a big red powder that exhibits red color in thick and thin sulfuric acid or nitric acid. Its water solution is also red, and upon the addition of 1 Moore sodium hydroxide solution, it turns into a big red color. Continuing to add insurance powder and warming the solution results in a golden yellow color, and the addition of boric acid sodium turns it into a light yellow color.

Uses

Used in Textile Industry:
Reactive Red 15 is used as a dye for cotton, wool, silk, and viscose fabrics. It is suitable for various dyeing techniques such as contaminated, roll dye, and knot dyeing. In printing, it is suitable for direct, discharge printing, and dyeing.
Standard:
The light fastness of Reactive Red 15 is rated as ISO 5-6, while its oxygen bleaching and perspiration fastness are rated as 4 (blue). The soaping fading and stain are rated as 4-5.

Preparation

4-Amino-5-hydroxynaphthalene-1,7-disulfonic acid and 2,4,6-Trichloro-1,3,5-triazine condensation, 2-Aminobenzenesulfonic acid diazo, and condensation products coupled, again with 2-Aminobenzenesulfonic acid condensation and salting-out.
